Saturday, February 25th-3:15 AM-WAKE UP TIME!!!!!
This was the first
early morning middle of the night wakeup. Glass Slipper Challenge is a 10K and a 1/2 Marathon on two consecutive days.
We were up and getting ready for the Enchanted 10K!
In past years I have been in the last corral. This year I had two corrals behind me. I was feeling really good for the race. The two weeks leading up to Princess Half Marathon weekend I had driven everyone crazy around me. I was paranoid about getting sick. The year before I was pretty sick-sore throat/coughing-not great for getting through the day let alone running a 10K. So this year I had loaded up on Vitamin C and Elderberry so that I could stay healthy, and thankfully it worked.
I wanted the best time I could get. I listened to my music and stayed focused!
I finished in 1 hour and 34 minutes which was a personal best for me!
After finishing I stopped by the hospitality tent for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida. While this was my 4th Glass Slipper Challenge it was my first time running on a charity BIB. Back in the spring of 2016 I had made the decision to run and raise money so that every mile would count.
I headed off to meet my friends for a well deserved breakfast and a quick trip on Soarin!
Question: Have you ever run on a Charity BIB?
