So it is already March with no posts from me. That is going to change starting now. I can’t believe it is March, and I definitely cannot believe that Princess Half Marathon weekend has come and gone.
But this is all true so I am going to start my 2017 posting with a recap of Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2017, and get you so excited that all of you will be signing up for 2018.
It is called Princess Half Marathon Weekend, but there are 3 races that take place.
A 5k, a 10k, and a 1/2 marathon. If you do the 10k and 1/2 it is called the Glass Slipper Challenge and you get 3 medals: one for the 10k, one for the 1/2 and one for completing the challenge.
As I have done in past years I was doing the Glass Slipper Challenge with two of my good friends. This is a true Girl’s Weekend-yes 19.3 miles of running is involved, but so is a lot of fun touring the parks, eating out and non stop laughing with no worries of everyday life.
First stop was the Wide World of Sports where Expo is held. We needed to get our BIBs and SHOP! Some years Expo can be truly crazy, and merchandise can be gone as soon as the doors open. We had a strategy-one of our friends went as soon as they opened, while I went to the airport to get our other friend.
When my friend and I parked at the Expo we were as expected miles away. Ok not miles-but not real close. So when we saw there were two more seats in the golf cart shuttle we hopped on. I mean, why not-we’d be running 19.3 miles over 2 days, and walking countless miles in the parks-we should get some rest since it was being offered.
As we usually do we went shopping first. The big ticket item was the Princess Half Marathon Tervis. Last year they had sold out so fast none of us got it so we were determined this year. Luckily they had plenty in stock!
We are also all huge fans of Bondi Band. I almost always wear one when running. So we also wanted to make sure we got the I Did It Bondi Band.
With shopping done we got our BIBs, and then headed to check into the resort.
Question: What do you do first at Expo-shop or get your BIB?
