How to See the Candlelight Processional?

Technically all you need to do is buy a ticket to Epcot. However, the Candlelight Processional is a HUGELY  popular event. especially depending on the celebrity narrator. In past years when Neil Patrick Harris has been the celebrity  guestI have heard that   guests line up from the minute World Showcase is opened. Here is the thing-just getting on line does not guarantee a spot.

How to Guarantee You Get to See the Candlelight Processional?

A Candlelight Dinner Package guarantees you will be seeing the Candlelight Processional. The following restaurants are part of the package (prices vary by restaurant).

-Biergarten Restaurant

-Chefs de France

-Coral Reef Restaurant

-The Garden Grill

-La Hacienda de San Angel

-Nine Dragons Restaurant

-Restaurant Marrakesh

-Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room

-San Angel Inn Restaurante

-Teppan Edo

-Tokyo Dining

-Tutto Italia Ristorante

-Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

To make a reservation call 1-407-WDW-DINE. Give them the date, restaurant, and which performance you would like to see.  Keep your fingers crossed that there is availability. The meal will be before the performance. After dining you will get a voucher that will guarantee entrance to the performance you made a reservation for. I would suggest that even with a voucher you plan on getting to the performance at least a 1/2 an hour before it starts. The earlier you get to the theatre the better your seat will be, because while you are guaranteed a seat-seat assignment is first come, first served.

What if I don’t have a Candlelight Dinner Package, but still want to try and see the Candlelight Processional?

As soon as World Showcase opens up you can head over to the American Gardens Theatre and get on line. However even if you are the first guest on the Stand By line there is no guarantee you will get to see the Candlelight Processional. All the Candlelight Dinner Package guests will be allowed to enter first, and only a few minutes before the show starts will they start filling in empty seats with guests from the Stand By line.

I will say, 2 years ago  Julia and I made it in on the Stand By line. I was not planning on going since I did not think Julia would be interested. However about 15 minutes before the 5pm show Julia and I walked by the theatre. Julia wanted to go see it. I saw that the theatre was pretty full, but the Stand By line did not seem that long. We got on line, and we got a seat. It was breathtaking and beautiful to watch. I actually thanked Julia for suggesting we see it.

Last year I decided not to to chance  getting to see it. In addition I figured if I planned to see it I should choose which celebrity narrator we were going to see (unless Katy Perry or Lady Gaga was on the list I knew Julia would not care). All the celebrities on the list were impressive. But I have a special place in my heart for Lieutenant Dan-Gary Sinise so I booked a Candlelight Processional Dining Package at the The Garden Grill on the night he was the celebrity guest.

I do suggest that if you have any interest in attending the Candlelight Processional that you call 1-407-WDW-Dine and book your Candlelight Dinner Package as they do fill up fast.

It is an experience that you won’t forget. No matter what holiday you celebrate the Candlelight Processional will get you into the holiday spirit.
